Barbara Yerby

Barbara was raised in Austin before moving to north Texas in the 70s and is now living in Taylor, Texas. Born to a mother who survived WWII in Germany and a father who designed and built pipe organs, she has been raised to appreciate a diverse spectrum of art. The love of photography was encouraged by her mother who felt photos should be reminders of good memories and the world around us. Her father was a musician and architect who dabbled in painting and enjoyed being surrounded by all types of artists.

Barbara took art classes in school whenever they were offered, joined art groups, and visited galleries and museums when possible. She doesn’t claim to be a professional photographer but says she has an “eye” for the subject. She takes mostly simple photos with some enhancements. With suggestions from other artists, she is trying to use other media and find just what her niche is.

She offers a variety of art including paintings, photos, collages, jewelry, and drawings and continues her attempts at other media.
