My name is Nick. I fell in love with photography as a kid, when an uncle showed me around his own little photography studio. He let me see and hold his equipment, press the shutter button on a camera. I was mesmerized by the darkroom and can still vividly recall the smell of chemicals. His photos didn't document family memories - there were portraits of strangers, street photography and landscapes. Looking at them evoked thoughts beyond the content or subject.
Photography has never been a job or even a side-hustle, but it has been a constant. Most of my adult life I’ve kept a camera close at hand and I get joy and gratification connecting with others through images. The photos I’m sharing were all taken on film and scanned to digital.
